Picture of the Week, More on Tony Curtis and Sharon and a recomendation for "Don't Make Waves", Hourglass Figures of the Great Stars including Sharon, and Model Doutzen Kroes and Sharon?

Here is our photo of the week:

This has always been one of my favorite sessions of Sharon.  Recently I found out it was none other than Walter Chappell who took these photos.

Here is another great tribute to Sharon in "Don't Make Waves" with her wonderful, late co-star Tony Curtis:

This was created by one of our contributors here, Tammy.  Thanks so much!  Here are more of her great videos:

Here is a blogger who mentions Curtis' passing and how much he enjoyed one of his lesser known films, "Don't Make Waves":

And a follower wrote me and told me about a new model who, by the way is one of the highest paid now, who looks a little like Sharon with her hair, smile and makeup.  Her name is Doutzen Kroes:

What do you think?

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  3. I FIRST SAW SHARON TATE IN " DON'T MAKE WAVES" BEFORE IT WAS RELEASED WIDE IN THE U.S. I WAS 21; SHE FLOORED ME WITH HER IMPOSSIBLE BEAUTY. I WROTE LETTERS AND MADE TELEPHONE CALLS TO FRIENDS ALL OVER TELLING THEM TO RUN AND SEE THIS NEW GIRL.
THE NEXT FILM I SAW HER IN WAS " EYE OF THE DEVIL." I TOOK A FRIEND WHO COULDN'T BELIEVE HIS EYES. SHARON'S ACTING WAS SO MUCH BETTER TOO.A REAL PERFORMANCE.
I FOLLOWED HER PROGRESS EAGERLY. POST MAGAZINE, HER FIRST BIG INTRO TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC IN 1967; THEREAFTER IN MOVIE MAGAZINES,NEWSPAPERS,ESQUIRE, EVERYTHING I COULD FIND. ALL THAT PROMISE.
I REMEMBER THE NATIONAL MOOD AFTER MARILYN MONROE DIED WHEN I WAS 16.... DISBELIEF AND AN ACHING SADNESS. AS A YOUNG ADULT,LOSING SHARON SLAMMED ME WITH HORROR AND A LASTING GRIEF TO THIS DAY. HOW COULD ANYONE HARM HER?
I REMEMBER EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT FRIDAY NIGHT AND THEN HEARING THE UNBELIEVABLE NEWS THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
NOW WHEN I SPEAK WITH PEOPLE ABOUT SHARON, EVEN THOSE NOT INTERESTED IN THE MOVIES, SHE IS UNIFORMLY REMEMBERED WISTFULLY WITH LOVE AND AFFECTION AS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD. SHARON IS UNFORGETTABLE.

  4. I knew the late, great Walter Chappell. He was a GREAT man, so prolific in his wisdom and sweetness. How fitting that he be the source of these images of Sharon Tate.

  5. Hello everybody, for me as a Dutch guy and being a Sharon admirer,I truly can say Doutzen can look like Sharon verry much. I while ago I didnt knew about the Dutch Model Doutzen. Then I seen some pictures of her in black&white and the first thing that popped in my mind was:,Sharon Tate, ofcourse the pictures made in the model-world are truly prof. so a lot of things done with light/make up/hair-style. But if there is going to be a movie about Sharon, then I am sure Doutzen is the One !! It is also sayd that Doutzen also has a verry sweet/cool personallity and does NOT have anny Star-Syndrome, although she is one of the best payed Model in Europe. But annyway.....both of the beautyful women Sharon and Doutzen are the most beautyful in their own way.
Greetings from a Dutch Sharon admirer
