More on the Masked Marauders Album, Catherine Deneuve Today, and for your viewing pleasure...

Thanks to Andrea for asking about the album.  The photo did come from the Playboy March 1967 edition and yes, it was originally taken by Polanski.  The album was just a bunch of sound-a-likes of major rock stars such as Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan, and John Lennon.  However, it is still unknown how or why Sharon's photo--a publicity photo for "The Fearless Vampire Killers"--ended up on the cover.

You can certainly tell that the photo has been manipulated when you put the pictures close to each other:

Catherine Deneuve is looking great at the Venice Film Festival.  This makes me wonder if Sharon would have aged like one of her favorite actresses, Deneuve? :

Doris Tate in Her Own Words, Sharon and Elke Video and Masked Marauders Album?

Some people have emailed me about this great video that has recently been uploaded to YouTube.  Doris Tate is wonderful in it.  However, I can't say as much about her interviewer, Bill Nelson.  Nelson, as you may know, was found out later to just be using the Tate family and when Doris found out she no longer had anything to do with him.  But that is another story.  Thanks to everyone and Andrea for loading this.  I love hearing Doris' words.  There are 7 parts, so be sure to see them all.  Here is the link that was emailed to me:

And does anyone know the history behind this album?  It supposedly has Sharon on it's cover? Is it really her?  And why was she chosen to be on it?  Is this a redone Polanski Playboy photo?  I can't find my edition but it reminds me of one with her and Ferdy Mayne?

Quote of the Week, Gene Gutwoski talks about Sharon and More Rare Finds

Recently, I got in touch with Gene Gutowski's son Adam to see if I could possibly talk to his mother or father about Sharon?

His reply:  I’d be glad to give your contact info to my parents (yes, Judy Wilson is my Mother)... They were both very close to Sharon and, as you can imagine, it’s a sensitive subject. I’ll be happy to pass it along.  All the best, Adam

I did not hear back from Judy but Gene replied briefly and said:

My son Adam passed on your exchange with him.  I would be very glad to share my feelings about Sharon.  She was truly a wonderful spirit.  I was there when her romance with Roman started on location in Italy for "The Fearless Vampire Killers."  There was an incredible love they had for one another.  I was best man at their wedding which was such a beautiful occasion.  I and, my former wife, Judy, lived with her and Roman in a house on the beach in Santa Monica for a time.  I have many happy memories of our time spent there.  I took Roman to Los Angeles to the funeral after she was so brutally murdered.  You probably know that.  It was such an immense tragedy... beyond words.

Photo Comparison of the Week and Others Who Look Like Sharon...

I know we have discussed before how it would be interesting if Keira Knightly played Sharon in a movie and I found this stunning photo of her with ash blonde hair reminiscent of Sharon:

Speaking of others who look like Sharon, in the news a Julianne Moore series of ads that also brings Sharon to mind has been banned in Venice, Italy.  I wonder what Sharon would think of this?

And a Sharon and Roman fan recently told me about a model named Snejana Onopka who, they tell me looks like a combination of Sharon Tate, Nastassja Kinski and Emmanuelle Seigner.  (I would also add that she also resembles "What?" Polanski star Sydne Rome.)  She was wondering if Roman Polanski had ever seen her and how interesting it would be if Polanski cast her in one of his future projects?

Sharon in the News for September 1st: Don't believe rumor that new novel is based on, Hollywood's Egyptian Theatre Shows "Valley of the Dolls" today, and Walter Chappell's son Robin shows off some rare never-before-seen photos of Sharon

I am trying continuously to get back to blogging daily for Sharon's memory.  Sorry for all the delays.  I will try to get caught up on everything as soon as I can but it may take awhile.  I will update some of the past blog entries with news from the months of April thru August soon.  So all will be updated shortly.

Here is the news I found for Sharon:

There is a new novel called 'Sick City' that even showcases a photo of Sharon on front.  Unfortunately it is based on one of the worst rumors ever printed about Sharon and some of her friends.  It has a character who comes across a famous video tape of Sharon having an orgy with Steve McQueen, Mama Cass, and Yul Brynner.  There are other rumored tapes of Sharon but none truly exist.  Writer Dominick Dunne asked Vicent Buglosi if these tapes really existed and he said no.  And there was a collector of Sharon memorabilia in the 1970s who was offered a tape of Sharon supposedly with two men but on close inspection, the collector comfirmed it was someone who looked a bit like Sharon but was definitely NOT Sharon.  He said that someone from the LAPD had sworn it was her and tried to sell it for a lot of money.  None of the rumors of these tapes have ever been able to be confirmed by anyone.  They are just part of the horrible rumors and false stories that were told about the victims after their sad deaths.  Such a shame anyone would ever do this. 

The only tape that does exist is one of Sharon and Roman and Polanski confirms it in his biography.  There were some other tapes found but none like what the media and rumor mill would have you think.  Also, there is a tape of a girl swimming in the nude in the backyard pool.  Some think that this is Abigail Folger and that Frykowski shot it.  However, none of the actual tapes sound that bad.
